The team at Newsweek magazine, a publication with a cloudy future at best, is getting their licks in while they still can. This week’s edition of the newsweekly will feature a cover story that asks if Mitt Romney is too much of a “wimp” to be elected President.
Asked about the cover on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Sunday, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee tried to laugh it off.
“If I worried about what the media said, I wouldn’t get much sleep, and I’ve been able to sleep pretty well,” Romney said.
The piece, and cover, are a call-back to a 1987 cover story on then Vice-President George H.W. Bush.
Romney laughed when asked if he’d ever been called a wimp before.
“Uh, I don’t recall that, no,” he said.
