EXCLUSIVE: Obama Campaign Fails to File Delegate Slate for New Hampshire Primary

OOPS! – OBAMA CAMPAIGN FAILS TO FILE SLATE OF DELEGATES FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY

For obvious reasons, most news coverage of the 2012 New Hampshire presidential primaries focuses on the Republican contest. With rare exceptions, incumbent presidents seeking re-election enjoy a nearly insuperable advantage in their party’s nomination process.

So it’s business as usual in the Granite State, with only one candidate in the Democratic running. Or maybe not quite so usual — because that one candidate isn’t President Barack Obama.

Wait… what?

Section 655:51 of the New Hampshire Election Code required candidates for their party’s presidential nomination to submit slates of national convention delegates to the Secretary of State no later than November 18th, 2011. Only two Democrats did so, and one — Aldous C. Tyler — has since dropped out and endorsed the other, author and political historian Darcy Richardson.

At first blush, that means Obama appears to have surrendered New Hampshire’s national convention votes for his re-nomination.

Unlike the incumbent Democrat, fifteen of the thirty candidates running in New Hampshire’s crowded Republican primary on Tuesday, including all of the major GOP candidates, filed full or nearly complete slates of delegates and alternate delegates.

“I’m sure this was merely an oversight by President Obama’s re-election team,” says Richardson. “Like a bloated bureaucracy, in a billion-dollar campaign like President Obama’s — one that’s literally drenched in Wall Street money — it’s easy to imagine that the left hand doesn’t always know what the right hand is doing.”

Not that he’s complaining, mind you. Richardson, 56, of Jacksonville, Florida, launched his anti-war, anti-Wall-Street, pro-Occupy campaign last fall after his pleas to more well-known progressives to run — former Labor Secretary Robert Reich topped his list — fell on deaf ears.

“The President has very obviously forgotten what the Democratic Party stands for,” he says. “So I can’t say I’m really surprised that he forgot he needs the help of real flesh-and-blood Democrats to get re-elected as well. I haven’t.”

Richardson is on the Democratic primary ballot in several other states, including Missouri, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas and will be launching a petition drive for a spot on the Wisconsin ballot tomorrow. “I’m happy to take all the delegates he wants to leave on the table,” says the long-shot challenger. “We’ll be waiting to have a talk with him when he gets to Charlotte next September.”

  1. What happened was, the NH Democratic Party reserved halls in Concord & Manchester way back when they believed that the {Primary would happen on February 14th, 2012. These facilities will host the 2nd and 1st Congressional District caucuses respectively on Saturday,. January 14th, 4 days AFTER the primary. In the very unlikely but not utterly impossible event that John Wolfe or Darcy Richardson (or one of the other Democrats on the ballot) succeed in winning any delegates, their supporters are welcome to join the Obama supporters at these caucuses to choose one or more delegates, presumably from the lists which have already been filed.

The scheduling strikes me as bizarre, but apparently it passes muster with the NH elections division.

In the interest of full disclosure: I am a local town chair (Durham, NH) and I have filed to run at the 1st CD caucus as a Obama delegate. (I may or may not become a delegate, depending on how the voting at my caucus in Manchester goes.) I do not agree with the scheduling: I think the Obama caucuses should have happened in November or December.

  2. Oops, I am in fact the town vice-chair. Sorry about the typo.

Obama/Soetoro is now being seriuosly challenged on his eligibility.
If Darcy Richardson starts collecting up the delegates – anything could happen.
    Good luck Sir.

Ah too bad.. for Obama. Looking forward to voting for you in the Oklahoma Primaries. We here in Oklahoma have hope, even if it is a red state, we’re thinking all these republicans will get out and vote in the democrat primaries, (they are registered democrats but are really republicans). We need some info on how to get flyers and bumper stickers quick.Thank you for caring enough to run.

this remains political sophistry – Obama continues as the Prince of Peace – we need his warrior-like experience to continue to lead our country from a republican created recession – and to continue to secure our borders through intelligent plans like the NDAA – he is the one!

Obama is done. Santorum constantly voted against the 2nd Amendment but voted repeatedly to give Penn State pedophile Jerry Sandusky the congressional Angels in Adoption award. Newt loves illegals (amnesty) more than Americans (Newt wants to bring back child labor for US kids). Mitt thinks corporations are people (killing his general election chances). Ron Paul is the only candidate with a plan to end the TSA and end the endless wars for Israel, it all started a decade ago after a false flag attack.

It seems fairly apparent that Republicans aren’t full behind Romney, yet find the others unacceptable in terms of beating current Dear Leader. In my view, it will be a close race between the 2 corporate owned candidates and SCOTUS pick arguments aside, I want nothing to do with either. I’m writing in Darcy Richardson here in Florida….even if write-in candidates are limited as they were when I voted in Ga. in 2008. Go Darcy!

  8. [...] what impact, if any, will there be for the fact that President Obama reportedly failed to timely submit a slate of national convention delegates to the NH Secretary of State as mandated by the NH Elections [...]

“…this was merely an oversight by President Obama…”

Obama is use to practicing oversights….look at his appearent oversight of the
constitutional requirement to be a “natural born citizen” (which seems to mean
that the president was born of two US citizens)…( this is the same test he and
a Senate body applied to McCain…etc.
